Short biographic note
Overall Objectives: to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment - its underlying processes and services - and the livelihoods of the people who depend on it.
Re Rural Development: to support the MDGs with regard to both livelihoods and the environment - by enhancing useful biodiversity in lived-in working landscapes (sustainable agriculture and agroforestry - and by enhancing and safeguarding the productivity of farm fields (sustainable land management) - but recognizing climate change (local and global) as a threat to these objectives - by promoting adaptation strategies (as above) to climate change - and, recognizing the role that carbon plays in agricultural and land management systems, as well as re global climate, by linking mitigation strategies (carbon sequestration) to the objectives listed above.
Re the Forum: to enrich understanding and collaborations in the area of sustainable rural development.
