Short biographic note
Augustin Wambo is an FAO Agriculture Policy Expert posted to the NEPAD Secretariat. For close to three years now, Augustin has been working in the NEPAD Agriculture Unit in support of the implementation of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) agenda. Before joining FAO and NEPAD, he successively worked in Northern-Cameroon for a year as Research Assistant at the Cameroon Institute for Agricultural Research and Development (IRAD) on small scale irrigation schemes for local communities. He then moved to establish with four other partners, a private consulting firm specialized in brokering support services between research and development actors and local communities in the rural area. He holds an Agricultural Engineer Degree with major in Agricultural Economics from the University of Dschang, Cameroon and a Master Degree from the Advanced National School of Agronomic Sciences of Montpellier, France which he completed in 2003 on Regional Integration and Policy Dialogue in the context of WTO Agricultural Agreement Renegotiation: A Case Study of the Common Policy for UEMOA. As a part-time PhD student with University of Paris XI Sud, he is currently working on public policies in the African context, using the CAADP process as case study to NEPAD’s value addition.
