Short biographic note
Steve Homer is head of Corporate Responsibility for Flamingo. Flamingo is a €400M turnover UK company with 4 UK factories and 5 African farms employing over 8000 staff worldwide. Flamingo also work with over 2500 smallholders in Africa and South America in the production and supply of fresh and prepared vegetables for UK supermarkets.
The Corporate Responsibility portfolio covers the adoption and impacts of social and environmental policy, across the Flamingo group and its suppliers worldwide.
Steve is also a member of the main board of Eurepgap, the global food safety standard, and trying to ensure that the views and needs of small farmers worldwide are represented in all areas of private standards compliance.
As an active member of the ethical trading initiative Flamingo are fully engaged with NGOs, government, media and livelihood practitioners in all aspects of rural poverty alleviation through sustainable smallholder agriculture.
